Use satin for sewing evening dresses, lining, underwear and nightwear. The fabric is also very often used for sewing wedding dresses, tuxedos, ties, elegant shirts or decorative appliqués. The luxurious sheen of satin can be used for interior decoration, e.g. to make satin bed linen.
We'll tell you how to care for satin to keep it looking luxurious! If you care for the fabric properly, you will prolong its longevity, colour and beauty. Satin requires gentle handling. Hand wash or use mild detergents (ideally liquid) and choose only gentle washing. Iron satin ideally over another thicker fabric or at a very moderate temperature without steam. Steam would cause unwanted stains on the fabric. We recommend using a thin size 70 needle for sewing.
Did you know that even your choice of fabric can affect your mood? A satin dress makes you feel luxurious and elegant, a satin chemise makes you feel sexy. According to beauty experts, even sleeping in satin sheets can affect your beauty in some way. Don't you believe it? Try it out! Because satin is softer to the touch, sleeping on a satin pillow won't irritate your skin too much. And because the fabric isn't as absorbent, it won't strip your skin of its natural moisture. And your hair will reward you with its beauty. Sleeping on a satin pillow makes your hair more hydrated, shinier and the ends don't fray as much. The satin elastic is the perfect companion for your hair throughout the day. The sleep set, which includes a satin pillowcase and elastic band, is also an ideal gift for every woman.
