We have tried: After washing at the recommended temperature, it shrunk by 3% in width and length, so it is advisable to take into account shrinkage or pre-precipitate the material when cutting. A small drawback is that you can no longer iron the satin perfectly smooth after washing, and the material has a slightly crumpled appearance.
Before sewing, the fabric should be soak in hot water without chemicals, so it shrinks.
The fabric measurements needed for sewing basic garments and home textiles, can be found here .
The seamstresses from our sewing workshop have prepared a simple comparison of different types of satin.
